Millie-Sixu Chen
Millie Chen is a London-based artist working across media and performance, with a background in media and communication. Drawing on her academic training from King’s College London, her work explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural translation. She has exhibited in numerous group shows across the UK, including Mall Galleries, FREVD Gallery, Copeland Gallery, and Fringe Arts Bath. With experience as both artist and curator, she brings a multidimensional perspective to contemporary storytelling.
Millie Chen is a visual artist dedicated to shaping conversations through mixed media works. Having lived in both China and the UK, Chen’s works often reflect on the shifting identity, immigrant trauma, and modern life crises. Chen believes in the meanings and power hidden within common objects in our mundane lives. By deconstructing and reconstructing them, new narratives and connections are shaped with twists. When creating a work, she often starts from her own experience, and turns to objects at home or in the street for an artistic solution.
